  • Making the most of grants

    Tom Simmons, a Forestry Consultant from East Sussex has written to us with information about making the most of grants.  He has been helping small woodland owners maximise on the English Woodland Grant Scheme where they were otherwise unaware.

  • Wilderness First Aid – 1st & 2nd Sept 2012

    Andy Sullivan from elst.co.uk (Emergency Life Support Team) has written to us with news of their next  Wilderness First Aid course.

  • British Woodlands 2012 survey

    Alistair Yeomans from the Sylva Foundation has written to us with news of the British Woodlands 2012 Survey.  It doesn’t take too long so please take a moment to fill it out.  The results will be collated and discussed at a conference at Oxford University to which all respondents will be invited.

  • Half price Bushcraft course for SWOG members

    Andy Noble of NaturesCraft has offered members a 50% discount on the introduction to bushcraft course he is running on July 21st (£35 instead of £70)

  • Presented by FR Jones and Son, the Arb and Forestry Event will be hosted by Kingswood Training Services in Shipbourne, Kent on 13-14 July 2012. Organised with the working arborist and forestry professional in mind, this show really should have something for everyone.

    Summer is here, if you look at the calendar that is!  It’s been the wettest June ever and our rather expensive irrigation system we installed last winter to water our freshly coppiced and replanted hedge seems a little surplus to requirements!
