Rosie Strang, Llais y Goedwig Network Co-ordinator has sent us news of The LlyG Gathering coming up in April.  Full details are on the flyer, please contact Rosie directly with any questions

We would like to invite you and members of your network to the Llais y Goedwig Gathering 2013, a celebration of Welsh community woodland work. The event will take place at Blaen Bran Community Woodland, Cwmbran, Torfaen, on the 19th and 20th April.

The community woodland movement in Wales has been going from strength to strength in the last decade. With two days of lively debate, talks, interactive demos and celebratory adventure in the heart of the woods, join community woodland groups from the 140 strong Llais y Goedwig network, leading environmental organisations, and the Welsh public, to celebrate the growing success and variety of work in this field.

The LlyG Gathering 2013 will take place in two parts:

Creating a vision for the future

A ticketed event with local lunch, inspirational speakers and debate with Dr Emyr Roberts, CEO, Natural Resources Wales, Rob Penn, star of BBC series ‘Tales from the Wild Wood’, leading community woodland groups, and organisations including WCVA and Cynnal Cymru.

Celebrating Community Woodland work

A free open day for all the family with live interactive demonstrations, local food and entertainment! Includes Horse logging, forest school, green wood working, milling timber, and themed woodland walks.

We very much hope that you are able to join us for this national celebratory gathering, and look forward to hearing from you soon.
