Charcoal Making Courses

Events, meetings and courses

Postby Bulworthy Project » Fri Apr 20, 2012 10:13 am

Hello

We've changed the format of our courses. We now run 1 day charcoal making courses. We load and light a mini-kiln in the morning. It burns over the day whist we unload, reload and light our full sized kiln. Then we identify the signs of the mini-kiln being ready.

We do still have the option to stay overnight for anyone who wants to spend the evening sitting by the campfire, having a barbecue in the woods. For those who don't have time to camp over, you get to see the whole process in an 8 hour period.

Thanks for the charcoaling course; relaxed but well presented with professionalism and good cheer despite impending wet Devon weather.
Good luck with the work on your plot, cheers for the evening barbeque and chat.

When we first took on our woodland in Devon we were looking for courses and ways to meet other woodland owners. We did the charcoaling course at Bulworthy and we are so glad we did. You run a well organised course and give such a personal touch to every stage.

We recently attended our first SWOG meeting hosted by you and met Richard (charming young chap) :) and other woodland owners. Thank you again for a great time each time we have met you.
