Tracy, after reading the interesting drought article it reminded me of an online decision support tool that was recommended to me to help plan an owner's woodland in terms of deciding what trees to plant or help encourage. The ecological site classification (ESC) tool can be accessed at https://www.eforestry.gov.uk/forestdss

One caveat is that the a soil survey is recommended for better accuracy.
