firewood processor hire/collective purchase?

feel free to post unwanted/surplus or wanted items

Hi there, as a family we are fairly new woodland owners. We are wanting to hire a firewood processor to convert about 15 30 ish cm diameter. The wood is fairly accessable and about 7 miles from Oxford. Does anyone know anywhere to hire one. Or do you own one and would like to share it for a fee? Or are you a small woodland owner in Oxfordshire who would like to establish a collective to buy machinery - ?mobile bandsay plus firewood processor. If your wood is in South Oxfordshire as Seeda grant may pay up to 50% of cost.

be in touch..

Hi Lucie

Yes, these SEEDA grants are amazing!

If you don't get to hear from anyone too near to you - try looking in Woodlots for chipper hire.

Well worth phoning around and finding out how to maximise use of a chipper, if it comes with a person and sort out details on how the site is left etc.

Let us know how you get on! Sounds good!

There is usually a shortage of firewood - so you could always sell the logs rather than chipping them?
