Field Archery

Postby fieldshooter » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:20 pm

I am very keen on field archery and I am part of a group of archers in Eastbourne who would love to start up our own dedicated field archery club, there is one huge problem, to organise a field archery club, we have to have somewhere to shoot and most field archery takes place in woodland.

We have been trying to find suitable woodland to set up a secure permanent course of 12 - 24 targets, but we are finding this almost impossible. We have spent hours trawling the net, contacting people and organisations, but no one has been able to help.

This is one last desperate attempt to find either a landowner close to Eastbourne who is willing to help, or try to raise approximately £100,000 to buy our own woodland which could then be used to generate interest in this old sport.

We are all members of the Grand National Archery Society (GNAS) and all of us have world rankings in this sport, in fact two members of our group hold the 1 and 2 ranking in traditional archery style in the world! We want to run courses and encourage new members, both young and old by running open days alongside the courses.

If anyone reads this and is able to help, or knows someone who is able to help, please post a response to this post, or email [email protected]
