New funding, what do you want?

A council has offered some new funding to help support woodland owners. I can\'t say much more yet, but, if you were to be offered some help, what would be most useful?

Management advice ?

An outreach officer? (someone to visit your wood)

Skills and Training?

Wood fuel advice?

Help with planning and regulations?

Something else?

This is something we are being offered, please lets not waste it!!!!!!! What would you want?

I would like to have funding for two aspects - 1 to be able to bring in a contractor to do some of the heavy felling and extraction of overstood sweet chestnut 2 to put towards some light machinery that could be shared by owners in our association for example a powered log hauler, or maybe a charcoal kiln.

There is quite a lot of advice out there which can be had for free, and also folk to visit your wood and look.

Help with planning and regulations would be useful - though you can\'t then plead ignorance if they don\'t like something you\'ve gone and done.

Money for skills and training is always worthwhile.
