Local group stuff

Postby tracy » Mon Jan 11, 2010 11:34 am

Julian Evans will be leading a meeting in East Sussex (Laughton) on the 17th April

Topics roughly:

The importance of light

Can you ever have too much? Signs pointing to lack of light. Dappled shade.

Practical ways of enhancing light - glades and tracks

Woodland structure

More important than tree species! What it means, how it's delivered. How to

diversify structure - very basic silviculture, the woodland cycle, and

continuous cover ideas

The importance of habitat

Less familiar habitats - dead wood, snags, woodland edge, ivy!!, wetland

etc.

Some specifics

Regenerating oak, other.

Let me know if you are interested.
