Beech seedlings

Postby woodlady » Fri Jul 26, 2013 7:34 pm

I've got quite a few beech seedlings coming up in my garden; I'd like to transplant them to my small woodland.

Should I:-
1. do it now directly to its final site?
2. transplant it now to a nursery site and move it again in the winter to its final site?
or
3. wait until winter and dig it up just once ... from my garden to its final site?

Your advice would be very much appreciated ... thank you.

i would leave them where they are for now - and transplant them when they are dormant - and when ground conditions are good for planting
