Martin,

Sorry to hear that news. If you need any advice regarding contaminated land, please pm me as I can probably explain in greater depth what contaminants will be present based upon land use. I live in Derbyshire as well, so I have a reasonable handle on data from industry in the area.

Generally contaminated land doesn't pose a threat unless the waste is at, or above ground level. Unless of course, you plan to dig down or grow veg in it!

Just thought I'd update the thread for anyone interested.

We've decided not to buy the piece of woodland that we intended to have.

The site wide TPO, the risk of contamination and other issues have turned it from an ideal purchase to a potential headache so the search continues.
