We survived Xynthia

Topics that don't easily fit anywhere else!

Hi All,

Just to let you know we had the storm "Xynthia" go over the top of us and we are still here relatively unscathed.

Our worst damage was to the greenhouse: the wind stoved the doors in and buckled some of the structure as well as sending some of the UPVC panels a quarter of a mile up the road. The structure is now repaired and awaiting the reinsertion of the panels.

The other damage was a seventy year old apple tree. This was over 12" at the base had a clear 10' of trunk and many branches.... lots of wood for turning and furniture. It landed in a large hawthorn which will probably have to come down also.

Otherwise counting our blessings and off to repair someone elses roof this afternoon!
