I spoke to the FC officers yesterday and they said the best thing is to ring the office and they can check paperwork for you

I spoke to the FC and found them very useful. They had a report about the same patch of woodland and from what is known so far the clearing is illegal, so my fears were unfortunately founded. The FC are now investigating. Thanks for the help.
