BTCV Courses

  • Fancy getting to grips with nature a little more professionally this year?
  • Always wanted to find out how to improve your site for wildlife?
  • Or maybe you’d like to turn your green fingered interests into a new career but don’t enjoy hours studying books and writing essays to get a qualification?

BTCV can help. This spring we are starting a number of hands-on training courses in East and West Sussex , allowing you to gain academic recognition for your practical ability.

If you already have reasonably honed basic skills but would like to brush up on softer skills like habitat surveying, working with volunteers, or leading guided walks, we can offer that opportunity too. Of course there are some theory and practical workshop sessions to make sure you grasp the theory behind tool maintenance and health and safety issues etc, but most of the courses are weighted towards tackling real tasks in the lovely local countryside.

One of our training centres also works closely with Weald Forest Ridge Project – supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund – safe-guarding valuable and historical woodlands across the area from Tonbridge to Horsham.

Courses start in May. To find out more information, contact Sue Meyer on 01403 730572, via [email protected] or visit www.btcv.org/eastsussex and follow the training links.
