Harcourt Woodland Barn – Timber Framing Course

harcourt 2

Barbara Czoch from the Carpenters Fellowship has sent us news of an exciting timber framing course taking place at Harcourt Arboretum

The project is being run as part of Harcourt’s educational programme:  they need some out-door, sheltered, classroom space, to accommodate among others their school groups on bad weather days.

They will be teaching traditional heavy structural timber frame carpentry, and all the timber is coming from the Arboretum’s own woodland.  The course would be particularly useful to owners of small woodlands, as all the skills are particularly accessible in terms of the tools and techniques we will be using (even some elements of hand conversion), and transferrable to other building and carpentry projects.

For more information is on Harcourt’s website  also the Carpenters’ Fellowship website
