Interesting - it doesn't actually say what it is though...

If it really is compressed leaves or such like, isn't that a bad thing for woodlands? Removing leaf litter removes the homes of millions of benevolent bugs that help to create the humus which feeds your trees...not to mention, the future humus itself!

As well as the millions of bugs actually in the leaf mold when it is collected....

tons of leaves are swept from the streets and parks each year it could be those ones.....

There was a chap in Birmingham who was collecting on a huge scale from the parks and verges. Bought millions of pounds worth of equipment then a local contractor sued because they said the leaves were theirs because they had the contract to clear streets! Guy went bust.

I always wondered about the branches off pines in commercial forests. The branches are just stripped and shredded by the large machinery and left on the floor. Wondered if with a light cellulose solution added merely to cause stickiness they could be formed into bricks?
