COPPICE RESTORATION COURSE AT DAYS COTTAGE
Come and experience a practical day working in the woods and learn all about the ancient art of coppicing in a peaceful setting in the Cotswolds.
Enjoy the satisfaction of improving a native broadleaf woodland and enhancing the wildlife potential in the woods. Relax at lunchtime around a warm fire with a hot nourishing meal and a mug of locally made cider or apple juice.
The 1 day course will be lead in a friendly and informative way by experienced woodsmen Patrick Baldwin & David Carter. The course is aimed at beginners and is also suitable for anyone just wanting a day out in the woods working with real woodsman.
The course content covers: theory of coppicing, coppice ecology, practical techniques and safe hand tool use for coppicing, layering, stooling, deer fencing, coppice products and marketing & firewood management.
Our aim is to provide you with a great woodland experience and develop your skills and knowledge through practical learning, guidance and discussion. A print out of the course content will be provided for each attendee for future reference.

IMPORTANT – Please be prepared to work in cold or wet weather. Bring suitable winter outdoor clothing including full waterproofs and wellies or tough boots. Tools and hot drinks will be provided
