Interesting Exhibition

If any of you happen to be in Hastings area then there is an exhibition of "European Baskets"on at the Hastings Museum http://www.hmag.org.uk/home/ . Open until the 3rd of May. Some might be inspired to create sinilar objects from their own woods using Oak, Sweet Chestnut, Willow, Beech, Rushes, grasses, Barks, roots, or even Heather.

We took a day off from fighting brambles and wild privet to trundle of to Haslemere and look at the 'Men in the woods' exhibition in the Museum. Very interesting and lots of history and pictures but not very much to see after a bit of a drive! Having said that we then went round the rest of the museum - dodging half term children - and looked at some of the 'local' history - pictures of the Haslemere area and people from the 1800's onwards. All in all very interesting but not worth too much of a trek unless your out for the day and not too worried about 'peak oil'! Haslemere is a nice place to look round and have some lunch too.
