Picking up from our conversation on chainsaw milling. How much do you charge for oak,ash and pine planks? What typical sizes do you mill?

Most of the oak I chainsaw milled in the 90's is still sitting on racks in the barn. I still remember all the sweat and tears in converting it and consider it too good to use. One day I will get the perfet job for it, until then it stays on the shelves, I certainly would not consider selling it at any price.

Since getting the bandsaw I would sell green oak at between £20 to £30 per cubic foot depending on the quality.

I know sum yards sell air dried at up to £80.

I have so much spruce I tend to use what I can and I keep my neighbouring farmers supplied in exchange for some goodwill.

I have thought of putting some in to the local monthly general auction but have not got round to it yet.
