From Ewan: Course that we are running in the South East which may be of interest to your customers or associates:

Our introductory training courses, independently accredited, and supported by Business Link, are intended to give participants the confidence to manage a biomass or waste diversification project, the ability to estimate economic and environmental benefits to their business and the confidence to present economic and environmental benefits to stakeholders.

The courses are funded by SEEDA and the ESF and completely FREE for bookings registered by Christmas - the courses themselves will run during the winter months from December-February. The number of free places is limited in number so will be allocated on a ‘first come’ basis (one free/subsidised course per eligible person). Please get in touch ASAP to book places or request further information by phone (01444 232 822), fax (01444 236 014) or email ([email protected]).

The normal cost for this course would be £75 per attendee. With the discount offered to SMEs in the South East this course was on offer for £25. However, for a short period – for bookings made by Christmas – Business Link Kent have decided to meet the full cost to attendees, making it free for a limited number (Attendees will need to pay the £25 in the first instance, and will receive a voucher upon completion to claim the full cost back from Business Link).

If any of your contacts are interested in this opportunity, please encourage them to reply to us ASAP by phone, email , fax or post. A booking form is attached for their convenience. If you have further questions regarding course content or any other enquiries, please telephone or email me.

Kind regards,

Ewan Delany

From Kent BTCV (I know we have enough work to do in our own woodlands, but we learn loads on these days)

Dear All

The Thanet Countryside Trust are looking for additional volunteers to help out at their lovely Monkton Nature Reserve. Both ‘indoor’ and ‘outdoor’ help is being sought; indoor duties include greeting visitors to the reserve, sorting through book donations or cataloguing items to raise funds via the e-bay website.

Outdoor volunteers are always welcome to help with the Saturday work parties which are held on the second Saturday of each month.

Please see their website www.mnr.manston.net for information and also a copy of their latest newsletter.

To volunteer or for further information please contact John McPherson, Trustee by e-mail [email protected] or 01843 843083

Kind regards

Sophie
