Did you see the advert/ article in the smallwoods magazine with the foot powered log splitter? Anyone used it? What do you think of it, worth it?

Dont know about the foot powered one, but I bought an electric log splitter with 520mm capacity and 5 ton pressure. So far it has split everything that I have thrown at it. Sending some photos to Smallwoods

Looking at the link the reviews are mixed. If splitting lots of logs(e.g. to sell) then i can see the benefits of buying a good quality splitter. Personally, i'll carry on using an axe for now as we only split logs for our own use, not for selling. Binz junior's comment was that it looked like a useful gadget but an axe is more fun.

As Ive been getting my eye in with our woodline splitter this week as Firewood orders have gone thought the roof and I am up to my eye balls in knotty bits the the processor wont touch hows about this for a gis-it website. we have a 10-tonne tractor powered splitter and a firwood processor to keep up with demand (and fix the bent splitting bar on the processor)

I've brought a 5 ton log splitter and like Richard it has trouble spliting logs. It saves my back and elbow.

We have learnt that splitting logs while they are green is easier too!

Sorry Richard I forgot to put no before trouble. It should of said "I've brought a 5 ton log splitter and like Richard it has no trouble spliting logs. It saves my back and elbow."
