evergreen ground cover?

hi,i want to plant some cheap form of evergreen ground cover in a large area which is quite damp with not alot of sun....any suggestions please?

If nothing, then why ?
What is the soil type ?. acid/alkali ?

I suggest that if you want to garden then buy a garden and garden there....

Brambles grow everywhere. you can come and take some of mine if you like.

hi,it is an area which had soil dumped on it in the past(flytipping),about 90square meters area,i had a digger in to level the area,there were green plants of sorts growing but they will probably only come to life again in summer,this is the reason for wanting to have ground cover all year round.

as for "buying a garden to garden there"comment....i dont class cleaning up after a flytipper and trying to re-introduce woodland vegitation gardening!

You could try Pulmonaria otherwise known as lung plant. Has a pretty blue flower. may take a while to spread.
