Workshop Anniversary

It is 5 years since I set up my workshop (at the end of the garden) under an old military tent. There were three of us at first, now up to 11, meeting weekly come rain, shine or even Bank Holiday. Most start with a spoon, then want to make a shavehorse. The large herd of horses began to take over the space and led to the only real rule - when you finish your shavehorse, it must go to its new home within a month. Four horses is enough for any group.

Two years ago finally found some woodland in Norfolk, so plenty of raw materials for the bodging!


It even has a shed and woodburning stove - far too much space!

most of the ornate enamelled seemed to come via france, if you ever want one, I have a good contact over there, english guy that buys/sells with trips back to uk

It is made by the Lange foundry in Svendborg, Denmark. It is cast, with a red enamel type outer coat. A friend was going to dump it so I offered it a home. A couple of days work to dis-assemble, clean and re-cement the joints was time well spent. It heats up a very big kettle (see photo) and gives plenty of warmth!
