parachute canopy

after visiting a few other woods, and seeing the parachute's they used as canopy's, made me fancy putting one up, having sat under their's when it was pouring with rain, they work well, anyway, here's a short video of ours getting put up, rather than using rope I've used bond wire, which is a product we use in pest control pigeon netting, it's stainless steel and I was then able to fit it around the trees, giving them room to grow, unlike rope that can get buried into the bark within a year, following their idea, I added a weak link into the top supporting wire, so should the canopy get a large amount of snow fall, the link should give way and bring the top down, rather than the chute ripping under the weight

Neat.

Did it come from Eastern Ukraine? I heard there are loads of surplus Russian ones going spare over there.
