Hello, my name is Julian. We purchased a small wood on the Pembrokeshire/Carmarthenshire border, just south of Newcastle Emlyn in the summer. Now getting to grips with it. Interesting site, on a slope, just love it! Mostly Oak, Silver Birch and Conifers (some kind of Fir I think..?), presuming the soil is on the acidic side? Also got a nice beech. Spent a great weekend camping out there with my Son. Long term we are looking at clearing the conifers and re-planting with more broad leaves and managing for wildlife. I'm interested in any advice people can offer especially from someone who can assess the condition of the trees in the wood and could recommend a local contractor who could undertake some work for us (i.e. felling with a chain saw).
Many thanks.
Julian
