Woodland Toilet

Hi all
started planning to make a woodland toilet
I've an old piece of ply-wood in the garage and have cut out a suitable hole -
as this will be left out in the open for a long time -
any proposals for wood treatment ?
e.g. Linseed Oil, Boiled Linseed Oil, Teak - cuprinol ? or just leave ?

your opinions would be welcome

If its interior ply or OSB board they are not designed for exterior use, it'll soon rot and fall apart- a fail while standing on it might be most unfortunate. You need an exterior or marine ply, or a wood that can resist damp such as decking boards, larch, or oak.

OK I'll search for some. Had some old ply in the garage and wanted to use it up.Thanks

We have a hole in the ground and have a large diameter plastic pipe and we set a toilet seat on the top and have a short drop then when full move along and dig another hole. Works well.

Also thinking about screening; choices are:

natural hedge (from beech, but not much / enough there to make a good hedge,
get some (buy) willow and plant in a figure of 6, not sure it it'll grow on our chalk soil,
make some hurdles - again from beech.

any experiences on these ? would like to hear your thoughts
