Afternoon all.

Does anyone have either a 346xp or 450E Husky in their possession ?.

I'm currently looking to upgrade my little 142e and I've narrowed the two machines mentioned above as favourable replacements.

My little 142 has been excellent for the last 3 years but I'm now looking to take a bit of the sting out of felling with some increased power and bar length.

Does anyone have any views on the these 2 upgrades ?.

Having used a 142e and a 346xp, I cannot comment on the 450E. I can say that if you get a 346XP, you will not believe the difference in build quality and performance.

I was recommended the 346xp by David Rossney, a highly regarded chainsaw tutor and all round woody guru. ( my words, not his) It has never let me down and even has a place in the house, whereas the rest of the tools have to live in the shed.

The house is the safest place for your chainsaw, at least its covered by your contents insurance.

Nah, pink is SO last year! I would love a purple one though!

Got a new 455E Rancher today :-) Cannot say much about it yet though as I'll not get to use it until the weekend :-(

The 455E Rancher was another husky I considered before deciding to limit the cc's below 50, though I would be interested to know your early experiences.

I would love to know why Husqvarna and Sthil both decided they have to manufacturer so many models within a similar spec level. Husky have 20 odd models from low to mid range alone,surely would be much more cost effective to design maybe 5 and would also make it easier to pick a replacement ..Grrrrrr !!!!!
