Let me just say before anything else I have no connection with the seller etc.

Take a look at;

I can't recommend this book highly enough - even at the original price. If you are fortunate enough to have woodland designated as ancient - (either semi-natural or a PAWS) then this really is a must at this price.

Professor Rackham is an absolute legend and this book is brilliant - large, based on case studies, full of brilliant information, a really good reference. If you want to learn to "read" your landscape and woodland, and you have ancient woodland, then this is the book to get.

And no, I don't have a connection with him, although I have corresponded with him regarding our wood.
