I would say from personal experience that if the council found out about this dwelling it would definitely contravene planning regulations. However as he was only there for six months he'd probably get away with it because it would take that long for the bureaucratic wheels to grind into action.

I've always thought when shepherding during lambing, a cosy tree house would be very useful, no need to go back in the house, a good vantage point etc.

The mirror one in the link , can't be good for the wildlife though!

good and bad points

pro's; from a distance I reckon it would be invisible to the eye

con's; lots of dead birds scattered around it, due to flying straight into it,

I'll stick with the ufo thanks, lol

Lol perhaps it's on purpose, like a way of getting an easy dinner.....

Nick Weston http://huntergathercook.typepad.com/ a charming chap doing fantastic foraged food in a farm woodland environment.
I spent a day and a half in April 2011 with him. I also naïvely thought I might not quite be satiated after a days hunter-gatherer foraging.
Under a tarp amongst the trees, his food preparation and cooking / presentation would put a few restaurants to shame...
