Sorry Outeredge. My sense of humour has vaporised in the heat this week! I reckon in the right hands (with some decent wheels) it'd make a good mash cabin.
Finally got around to updating this thread with some more pics of the build:

Traditionally, living vans were painted with a gloss finish but due to its setting, we opted for a matt finish in green (or 'Fir' as the paint company has labelled it). I'm not sure how this particular paint is going to cope with the elements, but the photos show it after only one coat.
Internally, I cracked on with the interior cladding using 9mm tongue and groove. Judicial placement of cladding clips with nails at the base and top of each board mean that there will be no fixings visible once a skirting board and cornice are fitted. [attachment=-1]20140525_131403.jpg[/attachment]
Because we wanted to stay in the van as a family, I needed to fit a bunk for our daughter. It's not pretty, as it was made from offcuts I had left over from the build, and hopefully it'll be replaced in time with something a little less intrusive ....but it works!
