snarkhurst woods was once owned and managed as a whole wood for pheasant shooting, I'm unaware of the exact date that it was bought and divided into plots, but we think around 15yrs ago, so sometime after this, someone must of commissioned a woodworking artist/chainsaw carver to do some pieces, as thats when each plot was given a separate name
now as we have permission from most of the plot holders to walk around, we have spotted a few of these carvings, there's
Bear Wood
and Owl Wood
we have also seen a couple of Boar in Boar Wood,
and an Axe in Axe Wood
there's also this one, not too sure if it's a name of a woods, or just old man of the woods
now try as we might, we cannot find a Goose for Goose Wood, was one even carved ?? we shall never know, but it would be nice if we could find the artist and get one made now, each of the pieces has this mark, not sure if it's the year 96 or a signature
so I'm asking everyone here, have you seen this mark elsewhere?? by all means, share the pictures with anyone you may know, would be great to find out who did all these wonderful pieces and help us get one too
