Portable Saw Mills

Topics that don't easily fit anywhere else!

Has anyone had experience of either an Alaskan Saw Mill, Haddon Lumbermaker or the Logosol Big Mill? Because of transportation difficulties within the woods, I am interested in sawing up some trunks where they lay.

I have a Alaskan saw mill used with a Stihl ms660. Once you had some practise the quality of the planks get better. You can saw logs reasonably fast plenty of saw dust. Just keep it sharp and use a ripping chain

To be honest the best thing would be to look at the Arbtalk blog http://arbtalk.co.uk , where you can find a lot of very experienced users of every make of chainsaw mill. My search there came up with about 250 threads on the subject.
