I suggested to one neighbor that if he wanted any logs he could cut some up in my woods, I have a lot of fallen trees, and I would deliver them for him using the quad. He has just been out and bought 2 loads at £70 a shot.
Another friend had his log shed filled last year as he did about a days work helping to clear a glade where we had a BBQ. I get the message that more logs would be appreciated this year but I see no sign of the quid pro quo as he is very busy, he is retired. I am not mean and if it was the other way around I would fly at the chance to have some logs in exchange for some fun time in a wood but if I have to spend my precious wood time supplying logs for free when I might just as well sell them for badly needed money. ( and I felt like slipping an expletive in there)
