Blacksmith charcoal

Topics that don't easily fit anywhere else!

Can any of the charcoal producers out there give me a bit of guidance on how much to charge for Smithying charcoal. I've got some in being tried by a smith at the moment as he's having trouble with the smithing breeze he is buying at the moment. He's looking to cut the price of fuel and is looking for a cleaner fuekl - he says he has been having trouble with the quality of the breeze he's been buying.

I dont believe that there is any significant difference between normal lumpwood charcoal for barbeques & "smithying charcoal" .

The smith may wish to break it up into smaller lumps to resemble the size of breeze, or perhaps you can sell him the smaller sizes that you may have left over from sieving your barbeque charcoal.

Cant you just start negotiating at your standard barbeque charcoal price with a discount for bulk ? Offer him leftover smaller sizes at a reduced price, but he wont want dust !

Point out the other advantage of charcoal at not producing clinker.
